On the 2nd of March this year 10-year-old Indi Pulham fell off the monkey bars at school and onto concrete.
She was taken to South West Healthcare, where it was originally thought that she had broken her coccyx bone.
It turned out that this wasn't the case - and she was diagnosed with FND - Functional Neurological Disorder and she was sent home after a short stay in hospital.
When home, Indi's condition seemed to deteriorate further and after some pressure from her parents Damien and Stacey following their parental instinct - she was referred to the Royal Chidren's hospital.
On the 26th of March - she was diagnosed Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) a rare condition in which a person’s immune system attacks the peripheral nerves.
Damien, Stacey and Indi have been at the RCH since, while Indi's brother Harley who is 20-months-old is back in Warrnambool living with his Grandparents.
Liam Fitzgerald speaks to Indi's Stepfather Damien about this ordeal, and what lies ahead.
