When baby Gia was five weeks old, parents Dom and Hannah noticed what looked like a little blue pea on her belly button.
After noticing the nodule growing in size and some additional spots, the decided to take her to South West Healthcares Emergency Department, which eventually turned out to be acute myeloid leukemia.
Since New Years Day the family has been based at the Royal Childrens Hospital where Gia is recieving chemotherapy, and haven't been home to Warrnambool Since.
They say they are incredibly grateful Gia has been lucky enough to be treated by the world-leading experts at the Royal Childrens Hospital.
