Dear Valued Fitzmedia LIVE Viewer.

We have been operating for seven years next month, and until now, we have not taken part in any form of fundraising for the service we provide you.

Fitzmedia / South West Local News was recently accepted by the Australian Press Council as a tier-one media outlet and into LINA, the Local Independent News Association of Australia.

As part of this, we have been selected to be a part of a unique nationwide fundraising initiative, designed to help organisations like ours become more financially viable so we can continue to produce free, local public interest journalism via our digital-based outlets.

The campaign is called Our News, Your Voice and calls upon our community and audience to make a donation to the work we produce both on Facebook and here on Fitzmedia LIVE.

You can choose to donate a designated monthly amount, similar to how mainstream media use subscriptions, only you can specify how much you can donate, and you can end your recurring donation at any time.

You will continue to have access to free local news content here and on our Facebook page if you choose to donate or not - we never want to go down the path of a subscription service.

The other option is a one-off donation of an amount you feel could help the work we produce, ideal for philanthropic donations and another private enterprises.

Your donation will remain private, and only we will know who you are and what you so generously donate to our company.

The official fundraising week kicks off next week, and on Monday, every donation received will be matched thanks to philanthropic support secured by LINA.
