A Good Samaritan is a popular turn of phrase but it’s very meaning has taken on a new lease on life.
In May this year Jenny Carboon and her husband Steve were in Warrnambool for the May Racing Carnival.
Just as the horses were about to head to the barrier for the Grand Annual, a perfectly healthy Jenny suffered a cardiac arrest, which nearly cost Jenny her life.
Luckily a program known as the Good Sam program was able to notify a young man who remarkably was just around the corner.
Within minutes, Riley Madden was there and was able to perform life saving CPR before the arrival of emergency services.
